McCoy makes some room, but definitely not too much. He wouldn't want Jim thinking that he doesn't want him curled in nice and close, because that'd just be a disappointing thing. He drapes his arm around his waist and pulls him in, leaning in to kiss Jim when he bites his own lower lip like that.
"Well, I mean, if Captain Kirk knows what's good for his crew, then I'd trust him with my life," McCoy says. "I think maybe even other parts, too, though I could use the test run on that."
"Captain Kirk always knows what's best for his crew," he jokes back, humming softly as he brushes a hand up and down Bones's chest, aimless and content. "And all your parts will be in very capable hands, too."
He remembers feeling this lazy and good, but he'd been eighteen at the time and newly engaged. McCoy also knows how that had turned out, but Jim's got that terrible habit of making him feel like history isn't going to repeat itself like that.
Bastard.
"Yeah, must be why I love him so much," he muses, closing his eyes as he lets the warmth of Jim's body settle him in.
Jim beams happily at that, suppressing a happy little sound and instead squeezing his arm tighter around Bones, kissing his cheek and settling his head down against his shoulder, glad to just cuddle for a while.
"I love you too, Bones," he murmurs back, his own eyes closing as he lets them both drift away.
